Former NAU distance running star Annika Reiss, less than a year removed from her college career, has signed to run professionally with Under Armour Dark Sky Distance.
Reiss, a key member of the Lumberjacks’ women’s cross country team that placed second in the nation in 2023, will remain in Flagstaff and train with the Dark Sky group headed by coach/agent Stephen Haas.
The signing of Reiss is the first former NAU runner that Dark Sky has signed. Hoka NAZ Elite has several ex-Lumberjacks on its roster.
Reiss finished ninth last June in the NCAA Outdoor Nationals 5,000 meters in 15:30. She also won the Big Sky Conference 1,500 meters in 4:17 last May.
