Prep Results: Coco High at Thunder Invite

Outdoor prep track meets in February? You bet.

Coconino High sent select runners down to Desert Vista High School on Saturday for the Thunder Invitational.

Here’s how the distance crew fared:

For the girls, senior Addison Stenman was the top Coco finisher in the 1,600 meters in 22nd place at 5:59.79, followed by teammate Scarlett Hargan, a freshman, at 6:45.21. In the 800, Addyson Palmer finished 12th at 2:35.30 and Adalynn Moore 25th in 2:44.73.

For the boys, Nicholas Wolfe, who placed sixth last fall in the D2 State Cross Country Finals, opened his season by doubling in the 1,600 and 3,200 races. In the 3,200, Wolfe placed 13th at 10:54.34. In the 1,600, Wolfe was 25th in 4:52.62. Junior Laine Davis was 14th in the 1,600 in 4:46.14. Davis was 15th in the 800 meters at 2:06.89. Coco’s top 800 finisher was Clayton Rhoton in 8th at 2:03.90.
