Yes, it’s that time of year again: registration for September’s Imogene Pass Run in Colorado, the 17.1 mountain race that many from these parts run annually.

As for races that actually take place in June and are closer to home, there are a few, including the Northland Hospice 25th Annual Run for Life, the kickoff to the summer-long Flagstaff Running Series, on June 15.
It’s a fast 10K and 5K through the streets of downtown Flagstaff, skirting the edge of Thorpe Park and briefly going on the Karen Cooper Trail but primarily flat-ish asphalt. Last year, Flagstaff elite runner Hosava Kretzmann pulled off an impressive double, winning the 5K race in 15:54, then winning the 10K (which started 15 minutes after the 5K) in 34:56. Will Kretzmann complete the double again? The women’s winners last year: Addison Royer in the 10K at 37:58 and Lindsay Riess in the 5K at 22:02.
