Runners who do workouts along the shoulder of Lake Mary Road, from the “mailboxes” to Upper Lake Mary, will find construction along the route starting today and continuing on weekdays until April, according to a Coconino County press release.
The work will “improve travel lanes and shoulders” along that 3.6-mile stretch.
“Drivers should expect delays, plan travel accordingly, and are encouraged to use extra caution and obey posted speed limits throughout the construction zone,” the press release stated.
Nothing was mentioned about Lake Mary Road being closed to runners and cyclists, so assume you can still get in your run; it just might be a little congested and there may be a diversion or two. But the likes of Weini Kelati and Woody Kinkaid will need to obey the slower speed limit.
Hopefully, workers won’t pave over the quarter-mile markings on that stretch.
Below is a map of the work.
