On the heels of signing former NAU runner Annika Reiss late last month, Under Armour Dark Sky Distance announced today the signing of Reiss’ former teammate, Gracelyn Larkin.
Larkin, originally from Canada, was a top runner at the University of New Mexico before transferring to NAU for her senior season last fall after the Lobos’ coach, Joe Franklin, left for Louisville.
In her brief time as a Lumberjack, Larkin contributed greatly to the Lumberjacks second place finish in the 2023 NCAA Cross Country National Championships. She won the Mountain Regional, then was the Lumberjacks’ top runner at nationals, placing 13th (two spots ahead of teammate Reiss).
In track last spring, Larkin was 10th in the NCAA Nationals in the 5,000 meters (15:32) and, earlier, was 15th in the NCAA Indoor 5,000 meters.
“I’m very grateful to be joining such an amazing group of hard working individuals,” Larkin said in a Dark Sky press release. “Working with Under Armour is an amazing opportunity and I can’t wait to represent them over the upcoming years. I look forward to learning from my teammates and coaches while I develop as a professional athlete.“
