Quick hits on a Tuesday morning:
— Longtime Flagstaff journalist and running maven Erin Strout, along with co-authors Katie Steele and Tiffany Brown, today unveil a new book, “The Price She Pays: Confronting the Hidden Mental Health Crisis in Women’s Sports — from the Schoolyard to the Stadium.”
It is an important topic, long ignored in mainstream media and by coaches of and support networks for female athletes. The timing of the book’s release could not be more fortuitous, given that the Olympic Trials begin this week in Eugene, Ore.
Strout wrote about her involvement and time investment in the book project in Saturday’s Arizona Daily Sun.
Here is a review of the book by The Oregonian in Portland.
