Hoka NAZ Elite middle distance star Ahmed Muhumed is on a roll recently, winning road races around the country. Sunday, he beat an impressive foreign field to capture the Flanigan’s Rockin’ Rib Run 10K with a course record of 27:52, two seconds ahead of Ethiopia’s Ali Abdilmana, a U20 World 3,000-meter silver medalist.
It was a decent morning’s work for Muhumed, as the former Florida State star earned $8,000 for the win and another $2,000 for setting the event record, previously held by Flagstaff’s Biya Simbassa.
Sunday’s victory for Muhumed comes two weeks after he blazed past a strong field to win the New York City Abbott Dash 5K in 13:38. In the summer, he also won the USATF 8K Road Race Championship in Tennessee. Before that, he logged several fourth-to-sixth-place finishes on the European track circuit.
